all i have to say is..... holy shit. Being back home now thinking about the show makes me appreciate it a million times more !!
My weekend was absolutely unimaginable and i am so happy to be sharing it with you !! So this is how it starts...
Saturday morning working off a few hours of sleep me and my mom head out by 6AM for our 3 hour trip to Jersey. We decided to chill on the beach all morning, collecting shells, walking the boardwalk..... we walked a total of about 10 miles through out the day!!
fast forward to leaving the hotel for the show....we got lost, forgot the camera, after turning back around for the camera we get to the venue and have to park at the other end of the earth and walk back which was another few miles.
It's already an hour into the show, while walking closer to the gates we recognize a familiar voice coming from inside. Could it be? ... have they already started?? Moving our way through the crowd up 3 HUGE flights of stairs we get to the top of the lawn....
YES !!!!!!!!! I see, off in the distance, four gorgeous boys beaming musically monstrous energy to all the dunderheads sitting lifelessly. 
i IMMEDIATELY consumed this energy, becoming overwhelmed with emotion... I didn't know what to do !! I was rippin and raring to jump into a pit and fuck shit up but NOBODY is moving.... 
i am not exaggerating. And by all means I'd start the pit myself except i don't see it much appreciated going around kicking people in the face, considering they were mostly sitting on their lazy arse.
Thankfully by that time Matt's talking about getting ready for Maiden .....

Enter... Like Light to Flies. Um, yah I know this !!! (blog title..hello.)
I am screaming the words as loud as my body allows !!! Everyone is either looking at me smiling, or concerned and backing away.
Whoa, wait. Did i just see movement?? yes !!! Two young bucks showing life headbanging, i love it !!!! I immediately ran over in between them and joined in !!!
After LLTF played, it's the final song. Matt mentions the new album and i swear i heard him say "this is our first single off the new album" (wishful thinking !!) Well they were playing something i sure never heard!! Atleast didn't recognize at first, but after a moment it's like "wait....why does this sounds like Pull Harder....??? What kind of new song is this ?!?!"
Heh, happened to be Travis botched up the intro solo.. but really you couldn't even tell !! He worked it so smoothly, making a completely seamless transition that was undetectable to anyone unfamiliar with the song.

Immediately after they leave, you see clouds looming together, thunder crackling and lightning piercing the sky. Me and mom high tail it over to the pavillion just as rain begins to downpour.
((yes, leave it to Trivium to conjure up a thunderstorm)) 
Atleast an hour goes by and we're panicking that we'll miss the meet+greet, considering that's the whole reason we went !! Finally I hear from Maria, she's like "where are you, we're waiting in the tent next to the pub." We turn around and the tent is right next to us less than 20 feet away. Man, we book it.
I see Melissa (tourgoddess) first, who i got to meet at Family Values last August and then met Maria (Xingu). These are two women to truly appreciate because they make our M+G's happen !!!
Then finally...yay !! hugs !! It was sooo exciting talking to the guys once again, like your friends you haven't seen in soooooo long that it makes it all more worthwhile.
LoL, my mom went up to Corey tugging on his wallet chain to get his attention, he's looking down at her like 'where did YOU come from ?!' We chatted up and took group pics, next thing you know we're giving hugs goodbye. We all leave holding onto our sense of euphoria....
Me and mom hang around little bit longer, listening to Maiden...we couldn't see them from where we were standing, only partly on the screens so we decided to leave early to beat traffic. It was still raining so we're soaked by the time we get to the car, go back to the hotel change and get some food.
Rest of the weekend is self explanatory, pack up and leave...had a sweet ride home since weather was more pleasant and now back to the grindstone of work schedules and blah blah blah....
but we have awesome pictures and this blog to help remember the precious details!!!

Okay, so I know this was over 2 weeks ago already but i remember like it was yesturday had a rad fucking time !! just breaking free from my everyday boring shit of a schedule was enough to enjoy.
The beautiful ride to the venue, getting set up in the hotel drinking and toking, walked the streets enjoyed being outside (reminded me of when I lived in New Jersey, being in an old school downtown city setting) met an adorable punk rock skin couple, Ed and Edith, who were our roommates.
So that whole pre-party, meeting the bands? Yeah that was a pile of shit !! i don't know who was misinformed, but we had to pay 20 bucks to get in plus 3 dollars a brew and there was only one band there for sound check..... which we didn't see because we left early !! lol so we just headed back to the room and got well rested for the remaining two days were well worth !!!
Saturday, we get to the venue and sitting outside in the parking lot waiting to let us in... who is hanging out in their van? None other than Flatfoot 56 (who is one of the bands i am currently drooling over) i just stroll over, hop in the van since they had the doors open airing it out... so fucking hot that day !! haha and just chill talking to Jyah (bassist) who i met the night before <3 <3
they are so down to earth and personal, i love it !!! i'm glad i wasn't nervous either, but that was soooo special ! 
When we get in, we just walk around start drinking and check out some bands. Didn't know who they were but i saw Josh (bagpiper from Flatfoot 56) watching them so i squeeze up next to him and chill (secretly squealing inside!) when the band is done you KNOW i seized the moment !! introduced myself to Josh and chatted about how much I adore his band, got to talk about how he got into playing the bagpipe and mandolin !!! And of course gots a picture
Remainder of evening was drinking, walking around (there's 3 levels to venue) and rocking out to the main bands i wanted to see: Hub City Stompers, Flatfoot 56 and The Boils. Of course I gots mad pictures of them playing (check out photos ^^^) AND i chatted with most of the members of those bands AND got pictures with them !!!
After I seriously rocked the fuck out, i was feeling waaaaaaay dehydrated from beer so i rested a little on the upper floor where you could see the stage down below. Ed was there later on chilling waiting for 4skins to play since they were the MAIN band (all the way from England!) and i sat with him for awhile.
As we're sitting there, resting our eyes..we hear some dude on stage bitching and hear bottles smashing. Just so happens a mere riot broke in the crowd !! It was interesting to see since we could watch everything being out of harms way !! hehehe
and of course the band we were waiting for didn't play that night due to the scene BUT you can check it out here !!
Oi Fest Riot
Everyone was escorted out and EVERYONE was so awake and alert then, it's about 2 in the morning apparently there was a huge party back at the hotel but i didn't attend.... me and friend Martin toked then walked to the diner and chatted for awhile, grubbing.
Sunday, final day. We get our shit packed needing to be out of the hotel room by 11AM, get everything in the car and park at the venue. It was little more chill that day, still drinking and socializing with a few cuties 
I was hanging at Hub City's merch table since their lead singer Travis was there (lol i'm such a dork) but i got a killer pic and talked about some upcoming shows i want to go to !!!
Met an awesome fellow from England, Gary (see pic above ^^) dude, for the life of me I cannot understand a fucking cockney accent... i was so embarrassed !! I'm looking at him like 'what? huh? what'd you say?' but really i'm just saying yeah and nodding my head.......uuuuuhhh. But i gots his e-mail and we're chatting still, that's something i want to work on to understand better !!
It ended kinda rotten since my friend had his 400 dollar camera stolen, that he just bought the week before !! oh man, he was so trashed too...ready to fucking something up. Ahhh, but how awesome is it, Tobin (lead singer of Flatfoot 56) remembered him from last year and was hangin with him helping to calm him down. I thought that was soo sweet !!
Yeah, so we left after that... got home and yeah that's about it !

Now i'm all stoked for Trivium and Maiden in 5IVE DAYS !!!! but in between that time is work...........................................
work sucks right now, it's sweltering being summertime... like you walk in and IMMEDIATELY start sweating..without even starting to actually work yet !? so all the while i'm soaking wet from sweat, have dust and dirt sticking to me ... blech. 
whatever, i just keep in my mind it's the only way i'm getting to go to these concerts sooo, fuck it !!!
enough bitching about work, i need to get ready for work and i'm so happy i FINALLY got to share with you my Oi Fest experience !!!

hello friends !!
been a hot minute since i posted, what with work and trying to keep my head straight. I hate it, as much as i try to stay calm i still get these little bits of anxiety when i have alot to do...plans and such. oh well, we're all a work in progress!
So here's what's been keeping me busy lately...
last Friday i went to that Black Keys show with my cousin, good times! considering i was in a daze from sleeping the whole ride, then i had a decent amount of liquor when we got there, rocked out as much as i could. (considering it was old school rock n' roll, not too much headbanding involved)

i still enjoyed myself, beats a day at work !! speaking of work, there's this guy i've been talking to...it's been really gradual but i recently gave him my number when i mentioned the Maiden/Triv show next month he said we should go together. (He's a HUGE Maiden fan, just saw them few months ago) Ever since we've been texting almost every night, we wait for each other after work and walk out together and we have sooo much in common!! Always joking and teasing, making each other laugh... i'm really falling for him.
Haha, here's the kicker..... he has a girlfriend !?!?!!!!
they kinda have a rocky relationship, issues with her ex, she cheated on him and he still forgave her. I never told him how i feel but i DID tell him how i respect his relationship and am not trying to over step my boundaries, which he was totally cool with.
So i'm curious to see where this goes ( i have a good feeling it's gonna work in my favor 
)
My brother has been home from rehab for a few weeks now, the only difference is that he doesn't use drugs anymore (yay !!!) but he still has that attitude that comes with being a teenager...yeah you know what i'm talking about. There's some subtle differences, like we've been meditating a bit since he did that in rehab he really enjoys it. He's been talking about going to a boot camp program for the summer, i really hope to see him follow through with it.
Before he left, me and my parents had to go to this mandatory program at the facility where we learned to deal with our roles in living with an addict and that was an incredibly enlightening experience !! I learned alot, and got to meet other families and see their experiences with loved ones who are addicts. Not to mention, it's a beautiful facility tucked back in the mountains amidst a lush forest. They really got it made ...
Ah yes, meditation...i've been experimenting with this new program compiled by a doctor who studied quantum physics and light/sound therapy... it's a meditation/hypnosis program that consists of particular sound vibrations that affect your body on the cellular level, allowing you to heal yourself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Yesturday, third day straight i've used it I experienced random twitches and convulsions in my arms, hands and legs. Kinda freaked me out a bit !!! I'm hoping it was the negative energy leaving my body, but who knows.... i'll keep using it more and see !!
I bought me and my mom new phones so i'm able to post awesome pics here more often! The pic in the beginning is our family cat, Molly. She's so silly !! i love her though, even if she sheds everywhere.
So...happy friday to me !!! even though it's really thursday, i don't have work tomorrow since i'm going to OI FEST !!!! i'm so freakin excited, get to party with the bands and REALLY rock out !! I don't have my bag packed yet, i don't even know what i'm wearing !! probably my awesome Trivium shirts, lol i'll be the only one there rockin the metal amongst punkx and skins soooo...uhh yeah !! I'm used to being different so it's all good
Welll now i get ready for work, start compiling a few things together for the weekend and be prepared to rock the fuck out !!!!
